The annual Creative Hawke's Bay Invitational exhibition, curated by Tim Walker, will be held at the Hastings City Art Gallery from 10th April to 27th June 2010.
The Invitational is a major contemporary art exhibition in which over thirty artists will have new work on display and for sale.
The exhibition will be launched with a Black Tie opening night event on Friday 9th April at Hastings City Art Gallery.
Tickets are available from Creative Hawke's Bay or the Hastings City Art Gallery. Adults $40, Seniors/Students $20 (cash or chq only). Tickets include canapes from Orton Catering and Clearview Estate wine.

CREATIVE HAWKE'S BAY LECTURE SERIES 2010
The Creative Hawke's Bay Lecture Series brings creative people and audiences together.
The Lecture series provides a forum in which creative people are encouraged and challenged to think about a number of topics that relate to art, culture and design in a broad frame of reference.
Always entertaining, often controversial and definitely stimulating, the next few months of speakers is a stellar lineup:
Tuesday 13th April- Miranda Brown, Fashion Designer
Tuesday 11th May - Gaylene Preston, Filmmaker
Tuesday 8th June - Ian Athfield, Architect
Tuesday 13th July - Douglas Lloyd Jenkins, Museum Director/Author
Tuesday 10th August - Marti Friedlander, Photographer with Prof Leonard Bell, Art Historian
All Lectures start at 7pm and are at the HB Museum & Art Gallery. Admission is $10 - door sales only.

THE 2010 Hawke's Bay Art Guide
The 2010 edition of the Hawke's Bay Art Guide has been published and is available at all studios, galleries and information centres throughout the Hawke's Bay region.
The Art Guide is a free resource for both locals and visitors to Hawke's Bay with listings of galleries, exhibition spaces, studio artists, arts collectives and arts clubs. You will also find information on where to make beaded jewellery, and how to access some of your local arts groups.
If you are aware of any artists who have studios or galleries and are not in this year's edition, and may be interested, please ask them to contact us ASAP.
