CREATIVE HAWKE'S BAY LECTURE SERIES 2010

The Lecture series provides a forum in which creative people are encouraged and challenged to think about a number of topics that relate to art, culture and design in a broad frame of reference.

Marti Friedlander has been taking photographs for over 50 years and is one of NZ’s most celebrated photographers. This presentation will focus on a selection of the photographs that were included in last year's exhibition of her work at the University of Auckland's Gus Fisher Gallery - portraits of artists, writers and musicians, street and beach scenes in NZ, as well as photographs taken in Israel, Austria, and the Pacific Islands.

 

Presented by photographer Marti Friedlander with Art Historian and Author Professor Leonard Bell.

 

All Lectures start at 7pm and are at the HB Museum & Art Gallery.  Admission is $10 - door sales only.

The 2010 edition of the Hawke's Bay Art Guide has been published and is available at all studios, galleries and information centres throughout the Hawke's Bay region.  

The Art Guide is a free resource for both locals and visitors to Hawke's Bay with listings of galleries, exhibition spaces, studio artists, arts collectives and arts clubs. You will also find information on where to make beaded jewellery, and how to access some of your local arts groups.
